As a native to the Pacific Northwest, blackberries are one of my favorite fruits. This iced tea recipe uses Northwest tea, which is available at various stores on the internet. To create this recipe, please take out your tea kettle and set it on the stove. Next add in enough water to yield one full cup of water after boiling. Once your water is boiling, pour it straight into a tea cup. Next add a couple bags of tea into the scalding water to steep for several minutes. Bear in mind this one cup will flavor the whole batch, so do make it as strong as is necessary. Once you have a rich dark tea, strain it into a large glass iced tea pitcher, straining out any loose tea particles along the way. Next pour in the six cups of spring water, the Da Vinci blackberry syrup, and the fresh squeezed lime juice. As was the case with the tea, do strain the lime juice, or the pulp and seeds will make the brew a bit on the bitter side. Finally take out a long mixing spoon, and then vigorously stir the iced tea until all the syrup completely disappears, and you have a nice rich blackberry color. Next do a quick taste check for sweetness, and if it needs more syrup, go ahead and at it here. Lastly slide the glass pitcher or jug into the refrigerator, and let it chill for two hours. Serve it in tall iced tea glasses poured over ice cubes, and then garnish each glass with a mint leaf or two.
