This is a wonderful recipe handed down to me through my Grandmother. The first step to this recipe to is to thoroughly wash your five rhubarb stalks. Once they are clean, cut them all into two inch lengths. Next take out a tea pot, and fill it with seven cups of bottled spring or mineral water. Place the rhubarb sticks into the water. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let the rhubarb simmer in the pot for a full hour. Once done place several tea bags into the water, and let the tea steep for roughly 10 minutes, or until it has reached a desired saturation strength. Once done, strain the tea into an iced tea pitcher, making sure to weed out any loose tea or rhubarb particles. Next add in the honey vanilla syrup. Lastly take out a long wooden mixing spoon, and stir vigorously until you have a clean and even color, and all the syrup has full dissolved. Finally slide the tea into the refrigerator to chill for several hours. Once the tea is ice cold, serve it in tall iced tea glasses filled with ice cubes. Toss a mint sprig into each glass as an optional garnish. We hope you have enjoyed this classic iced tea recipe, do surf around our website to search for others.
